The International Chocolate Awards is an independent competition recognising excellence in fine chocolate making and in the products made with fine chocolate. As the World’s only fully independent international fine chocolate competition, we aim to support companies producing fine chocolate and chocolatiers, small companies and artisans working with fine chocolate. By helping these markets to grow and develop, we also aim to support the farmers that grow fine cacao.

The De.Co. (municipal denominations) or De.C.O. (municipal denominations of origin) are certifications of the agri-food sector which have the function of linking a product or its production phases to a particular municipal area. Unlike protected denominations at European level, de.co. they are regulated at the municipal level and are therefore within the scope of local enhancement initiatives of typical products and recipes of the territory. The initiative for the protection of the product or traditional process that is intended to certify De.Co. therefore, it can also arise from a group of citizens or manufacturing companies, which merely report the suitability for certification and the importance of the product or process for the community.

The Eccellenza Artigiana is the recognition (provided for and initiated with the Single Text of the craftsmanship LR 21/1997) attributed to the artistic, traditional and typical handicraft enterprises that operate guaranteeing respect for tradition and product quality for the sectors of the Manufacturing and Food.
